
The band toured Boston's club circuit . They were guided by Frank Connelly their first manager. They then began to collaborate together with Steve Leber, David Krebs, New York managers. In 1972 they signed a recording contract and released their debut album. It was immediately followed by Get Your Wings, Toys in the Attic, Rocks and Draw the Line, which catapulted Aerosmith to international fame and recognition. The albums were awash with legendary hits like "Dream On", "Walk This Way" and "Sweet Emotion". Aerosmith's first five albums went multi-platinum. Toys in the Attic and Rocks were also multi-platinum. But as the decade progressed the fast-paced lifestyle of recording, touring, being together, and taking drugs began to take its toll on the group. Tyler and Perry were often called the Toxic Twins, for their famed consumption of stimulants as well as heroin. Aerosmith Behind the Music has many videos that show their bond. Tyler was apparently more dedicated to the band and seemed to dislike Perry's aloof attitude. Perry, however, was jealous of Tyler's choice for women in her life. Aerosmith was in a state of decline during the year 1980 due to tensions between Perry and Tyler.
